SERVICE FLASH

Date:24/3/12
Day:2
Service:ServiceC

1. Elfyn Evans / Andrew Edwards - Ford Fiesta R2
Pleased to be third overall and amongst the R3 cars. All going well so far and will keep pushing throughout the rest of the event, but stay within limits as there's no point trying to to beat the R3 cars.

3. Jarkko Nikara / Petri Nikara - Citroen DS3
It's been a great battle so far. I have someone else to fight against this round. There's only three seconds in it and I know where I've lost the time. Stalling the car at the start of SS4 didn't help.

5. Osian Pryce / Iestyn Williams - Citroen DS3
Enjoying it so far. The stages are good and the car's going well.

6. Tom Cave / Craig Parry - Citroen DS3
Great to be leading and I'm not flat out. Other than running slightly wide on one corner the last stage was perfect.

28. Jonathan Greer / Damien Connelly - Citroen DS3
It's been interesting so far, getting to know the car. I feel comfortable in it already, even though it's quite different to driving a 4WD car. We're trying different things with set up and also with our notes and lines.

8. Jussi Kumpumaki / Marko Salminen - Ford Fiesta R2
For some reason the car feels very stiff, which is making grip worse in the slippery conditions. I've had to concentrate really hard to keep the car on the road, but hopefully the team can fix it in service.

7. Jukka Korhonen / Mikael Korhonen - Skoda Fabia R2
First stage went well, but then the oil temperature light came on and, although there was nothing wrong, it distracted me a lot and I lost time in the next two stages.

26. Arron Newby / Julian Wilkinson - Skoda Fabia R2
Not much to say really slid wide and got stuck on a tree stump about a mile into the first stage. Even though lots of people tried to push us off, the car was stuck and that was it!

11. Peter Taylor / Andrew Roughead - Renault Clio R3
I had a slow start, which is something I have to work on, but then the last stage was great and I feel I'm back up to speed again.

12. Matthew Cathcart / James Morgan - Ford Fiesta R2
First and second stages felt slow, but third stage was better, although we had to slow down when we got to Alastair's car. Happy to be second Fiesta.

29. Egon Kaur / Erik Lepikson - Ford Fiesta R2
I thought the car was handling strangely, but then realised their was no rear brakes for the first two stages. I hope it can be fixed at service.

4. Desi Henry / Niall Burns - Citroen DS3 R3
We had a puncture on the last stage that dropped us over a minute, so I?m pretty disappointed about that. Other than that, everything is going OK, so all we can do is keep going and see what happens to the others.

30. Keith Cronin / Marshall Clarke - Citroen DS3 R3T
I?m very happy with the way things are going ? in fact a bit surprised! We stopped to help Alastair and got a notional time that dropped us back, but we may get reinstated. The car is very good!

2. Mark Donnelly / Dai Roberts - Renault Clio R3
We crossed the finish line of SS4, ran wide and the rear wheel clipped a telegraph pole. This spun us quite hard into a tree. We?re both OK, but the car isn?t.

15. Niko-Pekka Nieminen / Pasi Haataja - Ford Fiesta R2
We?re getting used to the conditions and trying a few different things with pace notes and driving styles, as this is the first time for us in these sorts of forests.

14. Jack Rowe / James Aldridge - Ford Fiesta R2
Got two miles into the first stage and then lost second gear. I now have to go from first to third. No second gear is OK on the faster stuff, but it?s a real pain leaving the start line and accelerating away from slow corners.

18. James Grint / Craig Drew - Citroen DS3
Felt good for my first time in the car so no complaints. Still getting used to it and need to build my confidence before going any quicker.

24. Matt Cotton / Glyn Thomas - Ford Fiesta ST
I?m a little disappointed as I know I?m not going quick enough through the fast sections.

22. Gethin Jones / Kevin Devine - Ford Fiesta ST
Drove like a big girls blouse for the first two stages this morning, but manned up in the third stage. I think I could fine more time it I tidy things up.

21. Alex Parpottas / Chris Davies - Ford Fiesta R2
Really pleased with how this morning went, but then had to take a notional time in SS5 and its really put us back. We?re therefore going to query the time and see what we can do.

23. Nick Allen / Andy Bull - Renault Twingo
Really enjoying the event so far. The first two stages were difficult, but found the groove in the third.

26. Arron Newby / Julian Wilkinson - Skoda Fabia R2
Ran wide on a right-hander in SS5 and put the car on its side ? as you can see! Lost about four minutes before we got it back on its wheels and got going again.

27. Garry Pearson / Craig Wallace - Renault Twingo R1
Notes were a bit slow, but we still managed to catch a car in SS4 and were delayed in their dust.

19. Chris Ingram / Joe Cruttenden - Renault Twingo R2
Getting used to the new ?Evo? spec car and been adjusting the brake bias, but other than that, OK.
