STAGE FLASH
| Date: | 18/8/12 |
| Day: | 2 |
| Special Stage: | SS8 Tardree (6.4 miles) |
R1. Keith Cronin (IRL) / Marshall Clarke (GBR) - Citroen DS3 R3T
Very tricky this morning. I'm being extra cautious. I'm not pushing at all, just trying to hold the lead.
R4. Elfyn Evans (GBR) / Philip Pugh (GBR) - Ford Fiesta R2
This stage felt very loose in places, so I drove very conservatively. I think these stages will suit the R3 cars more with long straights.
R9. Jonathan Greer (GBR) / Gordon Noble (GBR) - Citroen DS3 R3
I expected dry weather, so I went on the cut slick but we had a shower on these stages.
R10. Osian Pryce (GBR) / Iestyn Williams (GBR) - Citroen DS3 R3
I don't think there is a right tyre choice for these two. I was on inters which I think was the best. I'm just happy to get through.
R2. Tom Cave (GBR) / Craig Parry (GBR) - Citroen DS3 R3
SS7 was ok, but I struggled in 8. I went for a slick and I couldn't get any heat into them. But my time was ok.
R16. Callum Black (GBR) / Paul Wakely (GBR) - Citroen DS3 R3T
Mega slippy! SS7 was where I went off last year so I was mega steady. I was on inters all round which I think was the right choice. The problem is the unpredictable surface whilst I get used to the tyres and maps of the DS3. I ned to keep working at it!
R5. Alastair Fisher (GBR) / Daniel Barritt (GBR) - Ford Fiesta R2
It's very greasy. you can't afford to step out of line at all. I'm not sticking my nose out, just trying to drive smartly.
